About Camila

I am very passionate about research

After graduating from a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, I am currently finishing my Master of Science in Health and Medical Psychology. Alongside my studies, I also like to study Psychobiology and Neuroscience in my free time, as these subjects help me better understand behaviour at both a cognitive and biological level. This education serves as my training to become a psychologist specialised in behaviour change. So far, I aim to be training for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, as these approaches resonate strongly with the way I view human growth and psychological support.

I am also very passionate about research and statistics and genuinely love to study the human brain. I find it incredibly interesting how human behaviour and addiction studies can apply to so many different areas in psychology, from mental health to well-being and everyday decision-making. In the future, I hope to be able to apply this knowledge in both my research and clinical practice.

“Happiness is not a static state to be achieved, but an ongoing process of experiencing life. It’s about enjoying the activities and moments along the way.”

a sense of belonging

Born and raised in Chile, I packed up and moved my entire life to course high school in Qatar, an experience that completely changed my life in ways I could never have anticipated. I had to change my language, my outlook on life, my social world, everything. Since then, I became inspired to move once again, this time to the Netherlands, a country where I found both academic inspiration and a sense of belonging. All this being said, I deeply understand and empathize with the Expat experience and the emotional, cultural, and psychological adjustments that come with it.

As far as my hobbies go, I love crafts! I make some clothes, jewelry and home decorations. My favorite thing to do is painting, before I decided to study psychology I actually wanted to study Fine Arts.
